Mica watercolor paint is made from a natural mineral and pigment mixed with several proprietary but natural ingredients, that assist in emulsifying and binding the watercolor to paper or other surface. The tiny, transparent mica powdered flakes are both highly refractive and reflective to create shimmering metallic and magical effects.
Mica Watercolor Paint in Art
Using MicaColor, mica watercolor paint, in artwork opens up a world of possibilities! Use MicaColors as you would any other watercolor, or mix them with traditional watercolors. Beautiful effects can be made when applying them over watercolor markers. MicaColor is highly pigmented with a thick, brushable consistency that’s ideal for creating opaque surfaces. For more transparency, or to use as a stain, simply add more water.
MicaColor is stunning on dark papers producing a “jewel-like’ effect. Mix the Interference colors with any or all of the other colors to produce magical rainbow effects. Besides using a brush, it can be used on stamp images, applied to paper or metal surfaces with a fingertip, and used in monotype painting. Every color is handmade and hand poured.
